Network Adaptor Blocked by Workplace Network Policy - Workaround?

Moku model: Delta
Operating system: Windows 10/11
Software version:4.1.2

Bug or support request description: I’m trying to use my Moku:Delta (or Pro) via USB (or Ethernet for that matter) in a National Lab environment with strict network security policies that prevent simultaneous network connections. When I connect the Moku via USB:

  1. It creates a UsbNcm Host Device network adapter (Ethernet 7)
  2. My workplace security policy immediately disconnects my WiFi/VPN (always on) when it detects the second network interface

QUESTION:

Has anyone encountered this before, or is there any workaround or alternative connection method for the Moku:Delta that doesn’t create a network adapter? Or any guidance on configuring the USB connection to be compatible with strict “no simultaneous networks” policies?

Any suggestions would be appreciated! I would like to be able to move this instrument around between many microscopes in a user facility, so prefer not to be tied to a network router but I feel like that might be going its going as I.T. are unlikely to loosen the network policy! Just thought id asks!

Best,

Liam

Hello @LiamC ,

Thank you for reaching out to Liquid Instruments! Are you able to connect your Moku to the institutional WiFi? If so, you can connect your Moku and PC to this network and should be able to connect to the device at that point. Please give that a try and let me know if it works!
