Number of points for Arbitrary Waveform Generator

Hi peeps,

I’m an intensive user of the Moku Arbitrary Waveform Generator on the Pro version. I use the burst mode, with just one cycle, and I’m triggering the output signal. The thing is: I input the repetition rate of my signal, 200 kHz, and I set it up for 1.25 GSa/s, so that should give me a maximum number of points of 6250. However, the desktop app forces me to use 16250 points, which makes no sense to me. Given the sampling rate, the instrument will be forced to skip points, but I don’t have the option to choose the maximum number of points manually; it will automatically change to that number. Therefore, if I input a 6250-point text file, it will generate a vector of 16250, adding zeros and messing up the frequencies that I was meant to create. And if that’s the case, how can I predict the maximum number of points that the desktop will ask for? or how can I force the desktop app to output a given number of sampling points?

Thanks in advance!

Hello @alejandromarjim ,
The AWG allows you to upload a custom number of points to your wave. If you have a .txt file with 6250 points, you can right click the waveform and select ‘Load from file’, and upload the .txt file. The number of points should automatically update to the amount of points in the file. Is it possible to share your .txt file so I can double check that the AWG fills the waveform with zeroes because I was unable to replicate this in my testing. Looking forward to hearing from you!
